Teaching isn’t nearly as easy as Christian Abraham thought.

The class four student learned that lesson from experience on Friday: He was among 16 children at the Agape Total Life Academy who played the role of educators in observance of World Teachers’ Day.

“It is hard,” said Christian, who wore a red tie as he walked from desk to desk attending to his students. “They were always talking. I’m just confused.”

After teaching addition and subtraction, he said he would be a better listener when he returned to his own class on Monday.

Administrators hoped the experience would make the students better appreciate teachers, while inspiring them to consider that career path, according to Allison Daniels, who helped organise the day’s activities.

World Teachers’ Day was celebrated around the globe on Saturday under the theme “A Call for Teachers.”
