A murder trial and two sex crime trials were traversed to the next assizes in High Court Monday morning.

The trial of Alcedo Tyson, who is accused of shooting his girlfriend to death outside of a Baughers Bay nightclub in 2012, was scheduled to be heard Monday, but was instead adjourned.

Two other matters — the rape trial of Ian Thomas, known as “DJ Commodore,” and the indecent assault trial of Kenton Alexander — had been scheduled as backups, but they were also traversed to the May Assizes.

The court was expected to hear at least one more case during this criminal assizes, but prosecutors said Monday they wouldn’t be able to move forward with any of the scheduled matters due to witnesses not being available.
