The case against a trio accused of breaking in to an East End residence, breaking a man’s arm, and stealing cash and two mobile phones is expected to wrap up in the High Court early next week.

Doyle Guishard, Samuel Harris and Denzil Wheatley were all three identified from a clip of closed-circuit television, Criminal Investigations Department officer Shaun McCall testified Thursday.

Friday morning, he faced cross-examination from Valerie Stephens-Gordon, who represents Mr. Harris, and Michael Maduro, who represents Mr. Wheatley.

Both defence attorneys sought to clear their clients by pointing to the grainy quality of the CCTV footage, but Mr. McCall said that he was certain that he had identified the men correctly.

“I am not mistaken,” he told the court several times.

The High Court case against the trio had a false start in February, when the jury was discharged after it was revealed that one of the witnesses had a relationship with someone else who was involved with the case.

The charge of aggravated burglary carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
