Patrick and Michael Facey appeared in Magistrates’ Court Friday, each charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, alleged to have attacked a co-worker of Patrick Facey’s girlfriend while armed with machetes in the early morning of July 31.

Patrick Facey’s girlfriend and the alleged victim, Tony Springer, both work at Pusser’s East, Crown Counsel Herbert Potter told the court. On the evening of July 30, the two had a disagreement at work, and Patrick Facey made an angry phone call to Mr. Springer, he said.

Shortly after midnight on July 31, Mr. Springer went outside his Fat Hogs Bay home to wait for a friend to pick him up to visit the Festival Village Grounds, when the Faceys arrived, Mr. Potter said.

“Both men were armed with machetes, or cutlasses,” he said.

The Faceys allegedly swung at Mr. Springer with the machetes, cutting open his head and bruising his shoulder, the prosecutor said.
