Two men appeared in Magistrates’ Court Friday to face accusations of luring a woman to an empty house and raping her last month.

Clyde Lloyd Jr. and Calisio Romney sat in the defendants’ box as Senior Crown Counsel Leslie-Ann Faulkner described how the two allegedly took turns having unlawful sex with the complainant.

“She said no, but he moved towards her, forced her legs open, and proceeded to have sexual intercourse,” she said. “When he was through, he said it was Mr. Lloyd’s turn.”

Another man, who was not present in court and has not been named, allegedly was involved in the incident with Messrs. Lloyd and Romney.

The defendants were granted $40,000 bail with surety to appear in court on July 4. Since the charge is an indictable offence, the proceedings at Magistrates’ Court are being held to ascertain whether the Crown has enough evidence for the matter to be sent to the High Court.
