Alcedo Tyson was found guilty Monday of shooting his ex-girlfriend in the neck outside of a Baughers Bay nightclub in March 2012.

After a six-day trial with roughly a dozen witnesses, the jury unanimously found Mr. Tyson guilty of murdering Kawanna Todd-Rymer outside of Club Deuces.

High Court Justice Albert Redhead said the evidence in the case was overwhelming, and that any other verdict would have been a mistake.

“And I think you are an evil man,” Mr. Redhead told the defendant. “I can’t imagine such an evil and coldblooded human being as you, to walk up to her and shoot her. You are an evil man.”

Evidence during the trial included the testimony of three witnesses: Marvel George, Shennell Maxwell and a security guard who was working at Deuces on the night of the shooting. Each said they were nearby when the murder occurred and identified Mr. Tyson as the shooter.
