“Didn’t my Lord deliver Daniel?” the 20-member National Boys Choir sang during its first concert, held at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium on Saturday. “He delivered Daniel from the lion’s den, and Jonah from the belly of the whale, and the Hebrew children from the fiery furnace.” The event was attended by nearly 200 people, who generously applauded the boys after each song.

The concert also featured performances by the Cedar International School Choir, the Ivan Dawson Primary School Choir, the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Chorale, and the Foggy Mountain Boys, as well as a father-son performance by Dickson and Chickea Igwe.

The National Boys Choir, which was founded two years ago, is open to ages 7-16.
