The United States Coast Guard contacted Virgin Islands authorities to report sighting a “suspicious go-fast boat” in the territory on June 4, police said.

The Customs Department, along with officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, conducted a search, while the USCG assisted with aerial support, according to a police press release.

During the search, a vessel was found beached on the northeastern side of Great Camanoe Island.

“No firearms were discharged in this operation and no one was injured,” states the release, which was issued Friday.

On Tuesday, acting Police Information Officer Carl Mason said no arrests had been made in relation to the incident.

“Nothing new as of yet,” he added. “Inquiries are continuing.”

Attempts to reach USCG representatives were unsuccessful.
