The region continues to sort out the confusion and wreckage after two planes went down in the eastern Caribbean in the span of a week, causing at least five deaths.

Crews in the United States Virgin Islands on Sunday recovered the bodies of two passengers from inside a small plane found on the ocean floor just south of St. Thomas, according to the Associated Press.

The bodies of Rachel Hamilton and Darwin Carr were removed from the privately owned Piper Aztec plane that went down the morning of Oct. 13 while travelling from St. Croix to St. Thomas.

A Coast Guard helicopter responding to the crash made visual contact with one of the plane’s passengers, Valerie Thompson, who was rescued after being stranded at sea for hours. The pilot, Kirby Hodge, is still missing.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority suspended the operations of a small airline, Fly Montserrat, following a crash that resulted in the death of three people, and another incident only days later.
