It was a bit like taking a holiday for a dozen class four students last week: They boarded a ferry from Virgin Gorda to Tortola before producing their passports first for BVI Ports Authority officers and then for security officers on the Costa Luminosa.

And the students certainly enjoyed themselves. They were not shy about trying new things — sitting in theatre seats, spinning foosball pieces, and their favourite: swimming in the ship’s pool.

“It’s been really fun, especially the pool,” said D’shay George. He added that he enjoyed seeing the various sport and entertainment options.

On their tour with the ship’s safety officer and ship agent Sabrina Koss, D’Shay and his classmates also got to see the children’s area, several restaurants and lounges, a casino, and a 1,000-seat theatre.
