Virgin Islands Search and Rescue’s annual fundraiser, “The Governor’s Gourmet Gathering,” raised a record $20,361 last month, organisers said.

Held on Feb. 24 at Government House, the event sold out 10 days after tickets went on sale, even though 100 extra slots had been added this year, according to a press release from VISAR.

Attendees were treated to music by VI performer Ouida, and they sampled food from 12 businesses.

This year the venue was opened into the Government House Museum to make room for 300 people, according to the press release.

During an auction, attendees bid on items including a day sail, a platter, flights, dinners and resort stays, among others.
