Police are investigating a report of a bomb threat made Tuesday

at the Baughers Bay offices of the Water and Sewerage Department, an officer said.

A caller to the WSD’s offices made the threat at about 11 a.m., according to Sergeant Carl Mason, the acting police information officer.

Though not a “credible threat,” the call is under investigation and police are seeking phone records in order to identify the caller, Mr. Mason said.

“It does seem like a malicious call, but obviously we have to treat these things seriously,” he said.

Shortly after the incident, WSD officials sent out a press release announcing that the offices would be closed for the rest of the day. The offices reopened Wednesday morning.
