A committee of young adults has started meeting with residents as it works toward formulating a youth policy for the territory.

The first meeting was held Thursday on Anegada, and others are scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the Jost Van Dyke School and at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ashford Waters Community Centre on Virgin Gorda, according to Government Information Services.

Committee Chair Drusilla Fahie encouraged all residents to take part in the discussions, each of which will take the form of a “rap session,” a GIS press release stated.

The committee has also met with private youth associations in the territory, including the Rotaract and Leo clubs, the Methodist Youth Association, and various school officials.

Meetings are also planned with church groups, and committee members will appear on television and radio shows.

Members of the public are encouraged to share their views at www.facebook.com/viyouthpolicy or via e-mail to viyouthpolicy@hotmail.com.
