The dance company Ballet Next is to take the stage on Saturday as part of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College’s Performing Arts Series.

Founded by acclaimed dancers Michele Wiles and Charles Askegard, the group held a workshop for children on Friday.

The dancers perform with classical musicians, who will accompany them on Saturday.

“Ballet Next is carving a unique role in the dance world by bringing leading dancers, choreographers and musicians together in a collaborative environment that encourages risk taking, process and a commitment to excellence,” according to a press release from HLSCC.

Dr. Karl Dawson, the college’s president, believes that the ballet experience will inspire young dancers and help advance the arts in the territory, the press release said.

Tickets are $20 for children and $30 for adults.
