Police have a suspect in custody in connection with the daylight robbery of FirstBank in July 2010.

He is suspected of being one of three masked gunmen who entered the bank at about 10:30 a.m. on July 26, 2010 and fled with more than $31,000, according to a Friday press release from the Police Information Office.

During the robbery, the men ordered everyone inside to get on the floor, jumped behind the counter and grabbed the cash, police said at the time.

They allegedly fled the scene in a grey Suzuki rental jeep, which police later discovered in Harrigan Estate.

One of the men was about six feet tall, and the other two were about five feet, five inches, Mr. James said at the time.

No one was harmed in the robbery, though one pregnant woman fainted and was taken to Peebles Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing, police said, adding that because no charges have been laid the suspect’s name has not been released.
