Rhea Cooper joined the St. George’s Secondary School class of 2012 two years ago at the beginning of form four. Though most of her classmates already knew each other well, Ms. Cooper didn’t find it hard to fit in, she said during her valedictory address at the school’s graduation ceremony on Tuesday.

“I noticed how everyone knew almost everything about each other,” Ms. Cooper told the audience gathered in the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. “To me, this class is like another family. … Even at times when we disagreed, at the end of the day, we re-bonded.”

Benjamin Richards, the salutatorian, also spoke.

“As a class, we have made thousands of great memories and jokes: scary and exciting moments,” Mr. Richards said. “All of us have potential to do something with our lives. I urge you to strive for excellence, because you only live once.”
