Education and Culture Minister Myron Walwyn said Friday that the territory’s primary school students should be proud.

Of the 419 students who took the annual primary five exams, 364 were successful, an 86.8 percent pass rate, according to Government Information Services.

Mr. Walwyn congratulated the students and offered words of encouragement for their impending move to high school.

“You will make new friends, learn new ideas, and discover what you really would like to be when you grow up,” he said in a Friday statement. “The same study habits you had while preparing for the primary five exams, I encourage you to maintain those habits so that you will become successful throughout secondary education and be adequately prepared for life.”

He also singled out the highest achievers on the exams — St. George’s Primary School students Solene Seaman and Brandon Kartick — for particular praise.
