The territory will remember its first chief minister during the H. Lavity Stoutt birthday celebrations next month.
Premier Dr. Orlando Smith and other government ministers will speak when the government and the H. Lavity Stoutt Commemorative Committee hold the 11th annual Wreath Laying Ceremony at 10 a.m. March 5 at Mr. Stoutt’s grave in Cappoons Bay, according to Government Information Services
The event is to be followed by a “family fun day” on the Cappoons Bay Recreational Grounds.
The first Monday in March is a public holiday in celebration of Mr. Stoutt’s March 7, 1929 birthday. He died on May 14, 1995.
