Barbados’ Ramarco Thompson produced the highest individual score and was joined by two of his teammates in grabbng three of the four division titles at stake, as the team pulled off a three-peat victory at the XIV CAC Age Group Championships held in the Virgin Islands for the first time.

Barbados finished with a combined score of 27,300 points from its eight athletes to retain the title. The Bahamas followed with 27,032 and Trinidad and Tobago placed third with 26,711. The host VI placed eighth among the 20 teams and 139 athletes —  both records. All told, 15 records fell during the two-day meet.

Ramarco, who established meet records in the high jump with a 1.88-metre leap and the 80-metre hurdles (.084) with 11.44 seconds — a time matched by teammate Mario Burke, easily claimed the 13-14 Boys Heptathlon division with 5,264 points.

Grenada’s Kimone Patterson was second with 4,938 and Guadeloupe’s Guillauma Paquet third with 4,904. Kyron McMaster who won high jump silver for the VI, placed 10th with a personal best score of 4,666 from a field that had 36 entrants. Deshawn Douglas was 22nd after amassing 4,110 points.
