Prosecutors dropped charges last Thursday against a woman who was arrested in June and charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine to another, but three men charged with her will still face trial, officials said.

Petra Karran, a 22-year-old Guyanese woman living in Long Bush, was arrested after police allegedly observed her and three others at a Clean Hole dock near Road Reef.

At about 10 p.m. on June 3, police saw David Hodge and Elvis Thomas carrying bags and boxes taken from the boat Choke Off, which was captained by Chaim Todman, acting Principal Crown Counsel Tiffany Scatliffe said in June. Messrs. Hodge and Thomas placed their packages into a maroon Suzuki Grand Vitara allegedly driven by Ms. Karran, the prosecutor said.

After a police dog inspected the packages, officers reportedly found $225,480 in a box that was carried by Mr. Hodge and suspected cocaine residue in two suitcases that Mr. Thomas carried, according to the Crown.

Ms. Scatliffe said last Thursday that the Crown will offer no evidence against Ms. Karran.

The three men, who have since pleaded not guilty, face charges of conspiracy to supply cocaine, unlawful importation of goods at a place other than a customs port, and landing without leave of an immigration officer.
