Businesses, schools and other organisations are being urged to make a “green pledge” by June 1 in celebration of Environment Month.

As part of celebrations themed “The Green Economy — Does It Include You?” the Conservation and Fisheries Department is collaborating with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour and the BVI Electricity Corporation, according to Government Information Services.

“A green pledge is any type of action implemented starting in 2012 to help protect the environment,” according to a GIS press release.

Pledge makers will be awarded the CFD’s “official Green Pledge Seal” and will be invited to participate in the June 13 Environment Month Parade, according to GIS.

Registration forms are available at www.bvidef.org and can be submitted by e-mail to cfd@gov.vg; by fax to 494-2670; or by hand to the CFD offices at the Quastisky Building in Road Town.
