The Ministry of Communications and Works offered training to Crafts Alive and cruise ship pier vendors this week to help them market their products effectively, according Government Information Services.

The training sessions, held Monday, Tuesday and today were designed to help vendors understand the “new dynamic operations” of the revitalised Crafts Alive Market, according to City Manager Janis Braithwaite-Edwards.

“As we begin a new tourism season and we look at the revitalisation of Crafts Alive and the fact that we are now merging two entities together, it is important to move forward in an organised manner,” she said in a GIS press release.

Another goal of the training sessions is to help vendors use innovative ways to display products to build sustainable businesses, the release said. The process is designed to enhance the output of Crafts Alive based on the mandate of government “to enhance the appearance and activities that reflect the historic and economic importance of the territory,” Ms. Braithwaite-Edwards added.

The revitalised Crafts Alive Market is part of government’s plan to improve the overall visitor experience to the territory and seeks to improve aesthetics, increase connectivity to historical Road Town as well as enhance tourist activity, according to the release.
