It’s been a busy week for National Democratic Party campaigners, with four straight launch parties from Monday through Thursday, for Sixth District incumbent Alvera Maduro-Caines, First District candidate Shaina Smith, Ninth District candidate Dr. Hubert O’Neal and Second District candidate Melvin Mitch Turnbull.

The NDP stumping will continue Friday with a launch party for Third District hopeful Kevin “OJ” Smith, who lost to incumbent Julian Fraser by a narrow 56 votes in 2011.

Saturday night, a rally for the four incumbent at-large candidates – Archibald Christian, Ronnie Skelton, Myron Walwyn and Dr. Orlando Smith – will be held at 7 p.m. at Sir Olva Georges Plaza in Road Town.

On Sunday, the People’s Empowerment Party will hold a launch for its Second District candidate, Elford Parsons. The only other PEP event held to date was Ninth District candidate Faye Reese-Charles’ launch on May 2.

NDP candidates who haven’t had launch parties yet include Fourth District candidate Mark Vanterpool and Seventh District candidate Dr. Kedrick Pickering.

For the PEP, party chairman Alvin Christopher has yet to schedule a launch for him and his three yet-to-be announced fellow at-large candidates.
