A documentary, an essay competition and bingo are among the activities planned for next week in celebration of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s 45th year.

The documentary will detail the milestones in the force’s development after it separated from the Leeward Islands Police Force in 1967, according to a police press release.

Until then, the VI, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis and Anguilla were provided with service from the LIPF headquarters in Antigua. Some of the officers who served then are interviewed in the documentary, according to the press release.

Also next week, presentations will be made to three essay winners who wrote on the theme, “How can the RVIPF bridge the gap with today’s teenagers?” Winners will appear on ZBVI Radio’s Teen Talk at 10 a.m. March 3.

A bingo and social night is planned for next Thursday at the Road Town Police Station, and officers will compete against members of the public in various sports throughout the week.
