Work on the Pleasant Valley Bridge should include better signage, said Third District Representative Julian Fraser at a meeting to discuss road improvements there Monday evening.

Calling signage “part of your investment,” Mr. Fraser said at the meeting that a lack of knowledge about the project will only lead to complaints from residents in the area.

Communications and Works Minister Mark Vanterpool apologised that no public meetings had been held about the project prior to its start. “Until the member for the Third raised the matter in the House of Assembly about a month ago, that hadn’t been aired, or [received enough] public exposure, public input, and we recognised that we needed this meeting,” Mr. Vanterpool said.

Mr. Fraser added that he supports the $819,848 project, which is being carried out as part of the territory’s $15.7 million infrastructure rehabilitation loan from the Caribbean Development Bank.

“I feel that the best solution has been reached considering all the circumstances,” Mr. Fraser said.
