Volleyball

The British Virgin Islands Amateur Volleyball Association’s  Power League is slated to start on Jan. 19 at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex at 5 p.m.  There will be a meeting for all coaches and managers playing in this year’s league on Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the BVI Olympic Committee Office. Football

The BVI Football Association’s National League resumes on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds with the Wolues versus the Haitian Stars. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday

6 p.m. Rebels vs. VG United

8 p.m. Sugar Boys vs. Old Madrid

Sunday

4 p.m. Ball Stars vs. East End

6 p.m. One Love vs. Panthers

7 p.m. Lucian Stars vs. Islanders (VG)

 

Rugby

On Saturday the men’s national 15-a-side team travels to St. Thomas for a derby game. The game is in preparation for the NACRA Caribbean Championships in St Lucia on Jan. 26. Victory in St. Lucia would see either St. Vincent or Curacao visiting Tortola for a match in February for the next round of the competition.
