Glen “Supercop” Callwood is accused of approaching a maintenance worker at the Road Town Police Station and grabbing and squeezing his “private parts,” prosecutors said.

Mr. Callwood, a 15-year veteran of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force who has been interdicted from duty, appeared in court Friday and denied the allegations. He faces one count of indecent assault.

The alleged crime occurred sometime between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012, according to prosecutors.

On April 9 investigations were carried out, and roughly a month later Mr. Callwood was met and informed of the report against him.

Mr. Callwood, a 45-year-old resident of Horsepath, was granted $25,000 police bail with one signed surety. Last week, police announced that he had been interdicted from duty pending the outcome of court proceedings.

He is scheduled to return to Magistrates’ Court on June 21.
