The Technical and Vocational Institute still needs a major update, but students are back at their Baughers Bay campus this term, which starts Tuesday.

The students began their 2012-2013 school term at Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall to facilitate a modernisation at the Baughers Bay campus, but had to be moved back because of “respiratory problems,” said Education and Culture Minister Myron Walwyn at House of Assembly last month. He did not elaborate on those problems in HOA.

Contacted last week, Principal Elmore Stoutt declined to elaborate on the respiratory issues, but confirmed that refurbishment at the school was proceeding as planned.

Remedial works on the existing school building were under way, and were expected to be completed by the time students returned to the campus, he said.
