The BVI Tourist Board will launch its annual celebration of Tourism Month today with an industry meeting at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

The public is invited to the meeting, which will be held at the college’s Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, according to a BVITB press release.

Premier Dr. Orlando Smith and BVITB Chairman Russell Harrigan will attend, as will other BVITB board members and staff, the release stated.

The month is intended to showcase the diversity of the territory’s tourism offering, Malcia Smith Hamilton, the BVITB’s acting director, said in the release.

“We have designed a Tourism Month to entice foodies, lure adventurers, challenge photographers, empower youth, push green initiatives and stimulate an overall interest in our vast tourism product,” Ms. Smith Hamilton said. “Through these various events we aim to engage the public on what the BVI offers as a destination and drive wide participation from both the population and our visitors.”
