Over the past 50 years, more than 3,000 people from this territory have graduated from the University of Virgin Islands, earning various degrees and accolades, according to UVI President Dr. David Hall.

As part of its 50th anniversary activities, the school is reaching out to alumni all over the world, Dr. Hall said during a press conference at The Moorings on Monday.

The same day, the president met with officials including Education and Culture Minister Myron Walwyn and Dr. Karl Dawson, president of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

The school has set goals it hopes to achieve in the next five years, including growing the student population from 2,650 to 3,000, Dr. Hall said. He added that school officials hope many of the new students will come from this territory.
