At least once a year, Police Sergeant Selwyn Rock gets a full medical check-up. But on Friday, he got an extra one for free.

Mr. Rock was among more than 100 people who attended the Men’s Health Fair at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza.

The event was part of activities planned for Men’s Health Week, which was organised by the Office of Gender Affairs and wrapped up Wednesday.

“It is always good to keep yourself fit and healthy and to know what your health status is,” Mr. Rock said. “There are a lot of diseases that can creep up on you, so you have to always monitor your health to know you are in tiptop shape.”

Overall, the event went smoothly, according to Lorolie Connor, gender affairs coordinator.

Other events for Men’s Health Week included a “buddy walk” on Saturday and several sessions with male public officers.
