The Virgin Islands will play host to the Overseas Countries and Territories Association’s 13th annual ministerial conference next week, beginning with an exhibition at Maria’s by the Sea on Thursday morning.

Currently serving as the OCTA chairman, Premier Dr. Orlando Smith will lead Thursday’s meetings of government ministers from the various overseas territories, as well as next Friday’s EU-OCT forum, which will be attended by Neven Mimica, European commissioner for international cooperation and development, Dr. Smith said Friday.

Caribbean OTs will have a meeting of their own on Monday and Tuesday before the larger conference, according to Dr. Smith. That meeting is to focus on a Caribbean European Development Fund project to help small and medium-sized businesses in the region.
