Patients at Peebles Hospital on Christmas Day had a reason to smile.

More than 30 people gathered at the hospital to sing carols and deliver presents during an hour-long event organised by the BVI Health Services Authority.

Premier Dr. Orlando Smith, Opposition Leader Ralph O’Neal and Governor Boyd McCleary were among them.

Coordinator Jacinth Campbell-Hannibal, director of hospital nursing, called the event a success.

“The patients that heard it were happy about it,” Ms. Campbell-Hannibal said.

The Christmas programme has been held for more than 20 years, the organiser explained. “Last year we had one of the biggest turnouts, and this year was very comparable to last year,” she said.
