Water could be short in parts of EE

The Balsam Ghut reservoir will be out of service May 10-21 for repairs, the Water and Sewerage Department announced.

During that time, customers are expected to be affected in Balsam Ghut, Lambert Estate, Shepherd Hill, Greenland and Josiahs Bay.

“In order to maintain a continuous supply of potable water to its customers, the department will be pumping directly into the water distribution network during this period,” a WSD press release states.

However, the department is encouraging its customers to start filling cisterns or establishing other backup water sources in case of shortages or low pressure.
