A Dominica man who was flown to Jamaica in critical condition after falling from a Duffs Bottom construction site is scheduled to have surgery this week, said Bishop John Cline of the New Life Baptist Church, which is overseeing the project.

Jordan Joseph, who fell from the three-storey “Save the Seed” building on April 13, is still in Jamaica undergoing a slow but steady recovery, Mr. Cline said.

“He’s progressing fairly well,” he added. “He’s eating and sitting up, and they’re planning on doing surgery soon.”

Mr. Cline said the man’s face was severely injured during the accident and that reconstructive surgery may give him a chance at a normal life. The church is currently paying for all of Mr. Jordan’s medical expenses, and is asking for donations from the public “to help save this young man’s life,” Mr. Cline added.
