Several public officers have received new positions, been promoted

 

or left the public service, according to a notice Gazetted Thursday. The appointments include Sylvia Moses, as director of the International Affairs Secretariat as of Sept. 1, 2012; Reba Watson, as case manager at the High Court Registry as of July 5; and Calveia Scatliffe-Clarke, as an administration officer in the Facilities Management Unit to become effective on Sept. 2. Two others, Valencia Smith and Felicia Louis, received promotions. Ms. Smith was named a senior tax inspector with the Inland Revenue Department as of Jan 1. Ms. Louis was promoted to be an administrative officer with the Civil Registry and Passport Office on March 27. The Gazette also recorded that three officers’ appointments to the public service were officially confirmed. These include Janice Fahie, who became an executive officer with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour on Oct. 29, 2009; Akia Thomas, who became a clerical officer with the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force on Sept. 19, 2011; and Kenya Jeffers, who will be confirmed as a public health officer with the Ministry of Health and Social Development on Sept. 12. Two other officers — Dennis Jennings, the territory’s chief immigration officer, and Kendall Mills, who serves as the deputy registrar at the High Court Registry — will retire from the public service effective on Sept. 30.
