Police yesterday morning arrested and charged five inmates in relation to the fatal May 30 stabbing of Nickail Chambers at Her Majesty’s Prison, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said yesterday.

Andraes Norford, Essadro Jefferson, Rean-J Christopher, Dee Dijon Hodge, and Kareem Durant were charged with murder, while Messrs. Jefferson and Norford were also charged with attempted murder in relation to injuries sustained by another inmate, Ms. Drayton stated.

Four inmates were hospitalised following the May 30 altercation, with Mr. Chambers ultimately dying from his injuries, Ms. Drayton stated.

All five inmates will remain at the prison and will appear before the Magistrates’ Court at a “future date,” she added.
