The Virgin Islands is one of ten “countries of the future” out of 31 countries and territories assessed recently in Latin America and the Caribbean, a business magazine announced, attributing the ranking to the territory’s quality of life and human resources.

In a ranking published last week by FDIintelligence, the VI placed seventh on the overall listing of “countries of the future,” between sixth-place Antigua and Barbuda and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Costa Rica was ranked first overall.

The VI topped the “best quality of life” category and took second place in the “best human resources” list behind Costa Rica.
