Festival: The 50th anniversary celebrations of the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival begin today with a food fair at the VG Yacht Harbour. There will be cultural presentations by several primary schools, as well as a performance by Stanley and the Hotshots. The event begins at 10 a.m.

Fun Day: Tortola Pier Park will host an Easter Fun Day from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt and other activities.

Horse riding: Countryside Adventures and Paw BVI will host a fun day at the Diamond Estate Farm and Country Centre from noon until 5 p.m. There will be barbecue, pony rides and other activities. Call 542-2070.

Fishing: The annual Fishermen’s Jamboree gets under way today. Activities start around noon at Mermaid’s Dockside Grill and Bar, and an official award ceremony is slated for 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Fundraiser: Island Last Resort will host a fundraiser for St. Croix resident Norma George, who is sick and in need of financial assistance. The party begins from 7:30 p.m. Pura Fire will perform and there will be live entertainment. Call 394-0100.

Easter Festival: Jamaican singer Jah Cure and St. Thomas duo Rock City will headline the official opening ceremony of the Bernice Sprauve Festiville from around 7 p.m. on Virgin Gorda. Other entertainers include Sistah Joyce, Hardcore Band and VIBE.

 

Sunday

Easter: The Lions Club of Virgin Gorda will host an Easter egg hunt at the Walters Recreational Park on VG from 2-5 p.m.

Wet fete: The VG Easter Festival Committee will host a Wet Fete at the St. Thomas Bay Jetty from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. There will be live entertainment as well as water sports and games.
Calypso: Eight calypsonians will compete from 7 p.m. at the Bernice Sprauve Festiville.  Later, Trinidad and Tobago soca singer Destra will take the stage. Tickets cost $25.

Monday

Tramp: The VG Easter Festival Rise and Shine Tramp will start around 4 a.m. from St. Thomas Bay to the Bernice Sprauve Festiville. There will be live entertainment.

Kites: The Association of Guyanese Residents in the BVI will host its annual Easter kite flying activity behind the Central Administration Building from around noon.

 

Wednesday

Wine: De Loose Mongoose hosts Wine Down Wednesdays from 6 p.m. There will be live entertainment by Kevin and Jalena. Call 495-2303.

Party: The Island Last Resort hosts Wild Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. There will be fire dancers and live music. Call 394-0100.
