On Saturday at Scrub Island, former Bregado Flax Educational Centre teacher Kristin Frazer walked out behind a dozen models who had just modeled nearly 30 pieces of swimwear from her 2013 Spring Mosaic Collection.

It was her first solo fashion show in the Virgin Islands, and it came after her work was featured in several shows in the Caribbean and the United States.

“Guyana Fashion Week was my first fashion show, and that was where I launched Trefle Designs,” the Virgin Islander said of her swimwear line.

Since then, her designs have gotten more international exposure, including an appearance in Essence Magazine’s Black Designer Spotlight.

Ms. Frazer said she was pleased with the Saturday show.

“Everything that I envisioned for the show became a reality and that was the best thing about it,” she said afterwards.
