About seven months after its launch, the Virgin Islands’ financial services and investment promotion office in Hong Kong has convened a series of presentations aimed at marketing the sector in Asia.

BVI House Asia hosted the inaugural seminar — Funds and Investment Business: BVI Options — on March 27 for 40 attendees, according to Government Information Services.

The VI has long been known among Chinese investors as a leader for business company incorporations, said Elise Donovan, the director of BVI House Asia. But the seminars aim to showcase the diversity of the sector’s other offerings.

“The funds seminar is part of BVI House Asia’s series to educate stakeholders about the financial services and products offered by the jurisdiction. We therefore want to be proactive about educating local service providers about the services offered by the BVI,” Ms. Donovan said.
