The costumes have arrived, the dance moves are being finalised, and more than 300 young performers are ready for the annual Dance Fest, said organiser Sandy Lyons.

On Friday, Ms. Lyons and other instructors from the BVI Dance School were rehearsing several routines with the dancers, getting set for the event scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

“Preparations have been ongoing since January, and of course the last couple of weeks are coming in,” Ms. Lyons said. “The kids are so excited to see the costumes after seeing the pictures for so long.”

There will be different genres of dance in about 26 performances, Ms. Lyons said. Guest groups will also perform, including JAD Dancers, St. George’s Secondary School, Adagio Dance School and the Geek Squad.

“Every year we are pretty much sold out and standing room only,” the organiser said. “The kids have been fabulous this year. Many of them are veterans of this show. Some have been dancing for five years or more.”
