Friday

Food Fair: The Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee will host the James Lettsome III Cultural Food Fair from 10 a.m. at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park. There will be entertainment by The Lashing Dogs, Leon and the Hot Shots, and the St. George’s Miracle Touch Steel Orchestra.

Happy hour: Deejays Turbo and Kuga will be behind the turntable at Village Cay Marina’s Elite Fridays event from 4-8 p.m. There will be specials on pizzas and beers.

Jerk: Trellis Bay Market offers BBQ and jerk each Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. Call 495-1421.

Fashion: There will be a fashion show at the Tortola Pier Park as part of activities for the park’s Festival Funky Fashion Friday today from 5 p.m. There will be live music.

Quiz night: It’s Quiz Night at The Tamarind Club in Josiahs Bay from 7 p.m. Call 495-2477.

Saturday

Walk: The Saturday Morning Walkers will meet at 5:15 a.m. at the top of Admin Drive in Road Town. From there, they’ll walk to the CSY dock, turn left up Jean Hill and left again to Fort Hill before returning to their starting point. Car show: The BVI Motor Sports Association will host a Car Exhibition from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Althea Scatliffe Primary School. There will be live entertainment and games for the family. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $2 for children. DJ Phenom will be behind the turntable.

Pool party: Harbour View Marina will host a Pool and Pole Foam Party from noon until 6 p.m. DJ Taz will be behind the turntable. There will be specials on drinks.

Closing party: Coco Maya on Virgin Gorda will host an End of Season Beach Party from 6 p.m. DJ Island Boy will behind the turntable.

Dinner: Brandywine Estate Restaurant will host a Closing Dinner Party today. There will be canapés and champagne on arrival. Oren Hodge will perform. Tickets cost $50.

Sunday

Beach: The East End/Long Look Festival Committee will host a Beach Splash at Long Bay Beach, Beef Island from 11 a.m.

Pool party: Scrub Island hosts Splash Sundays every Sunday from 1-5 p.m. There will be handcrafted cocktails and grilled food. DJ Bertrum will be behind the turntable. Tickets cost $50.

Tuesday

Festival: The East End/Long Look Festival begins today with the opening of the Andre “Charlie” Turnbull Festival Village from 8 p.m. There will be performances by Jah Vinci and I Octane from Jamaica and Jamesy P from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Wet fete: Asa Banton, Showtime Band and Shaw HP will perform at a Summer 16 Wet Fete today at the Tortola Pier Park from 4 a.m. Tickets cost $20.

Wednesday

Wet fete: Family Promotions will host a Wet Fete today at Bouncer and Ramon Bar in Paraquita Bay. Xtreme Band and OMG will perform. The event begins after the East End/Long Look Rise and Shine Tramp.

Aug. 4-6

Carrot Bay: The Carrot Bay Cultural Fiesta begins today with the Melvin Hyman Fisherman’s Tournament and continues through Saturday, when Festival events move back to Road Town to wrap up.
