In preparation for the BVI Art and Culture Show at London House next month, 14 Virgin Islands artists will participate in an exhibition to showcase their work in sculpture, pottery, painting, needlework, batik and other media.

The collection will be launched at an opening ceremony at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the West Atrium of the Central Administration Building, and it is to remain on display through June 15.

Artwork for the July London show will be selected from the collection, according to Government Information Services.

The VI show is intended to give residents a taste of what is showcased each in July in London, said London Office Director Kedrick Malone.

“This unique event will bring together the local artists who hope to showcase their work at the London House art show, and it will give the public, for the first time, the opportunity to see the work that is being sent abroad to represent the territory,” Mr. Malone said.
