For three nights starting tomorrow, Cane Garden Bay will host thousands of residents and visitors during the BVI Music Festival.

Among the performers scheduled to entertain them are Grammy Award-winner Estelle, Jamaica’s “dancehall queen” Lady Saw, reggae veterans Third World, and Melanie Amaro, of X-Factor fame.

Plenty of Virgin Islands artists will also take the stage at the event, which is moving back to its original location on the beach after being held in a fenced enclosure for the past two years.

Most of the international performers are scheduled to start arriving today, said Rhodni Skelton, public relations officer with the BVI Music Festival Committee.

“Everything else is coming on well, and we should be up and running by Thursday night,” Mr. Skelton said.

He added that measures are in place to ensure safety. “Security is set. The police have a master plan in place,” he said, adding that officers will patrol on foot and scooters throughout the weekend.

“We are encouraging everybody to come out and have some clean fun,” Mr. Skelton said.
