Jackhel King was dressed in a gray-and-black strapless dress as she strutted down a walkway at Government House. But the dress was not the centre of attention: Her aim was to show off her seven-inch-high multicoloured wedge shoes.

Ms. King was among 10 women who took the runway hoping their shoes would win the title of Highest High Heel during the Rotary Club of Road Town’s Guess Whose Shoe Extravaganza.

During the evening, most attendees held cards that they raised in the air to vote for a winning shoe in each category. The other categories for the night included Most Unique Shoe, Ugliest Shoe and the Most Colourful Shoe.

Some competitors brought along more than one pair and competed in different segments.

Funds collected during the event will be donated to charities in the community, organisers said.
