It was a red carpet affair on Saturday at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall   as young Virgin Islands performers were honoured during the Top 7 at 7 Award Show.

Before the ceremony kicked off at about 8 p.m., attendees walked down a red carpet that spread from the outside gate to the entrance of the hall.

There were flowers set up on each side of the carpet, and many participants posed for a group of photographers. Meanwhile, reporters and radio personalities interviewed the performers as they arrived.

During the subsequent ceremony, awards were presented to groups whose songs made it to number one on the Top 7 at 7 Award Show, which airs at 7 p.m. daily on ZROD FM.

Monea Richardson was named the overall winner, earning the opportunity to represent the territory at a talent show in St. Kitts.

The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College student performed her song “Kaboom.” She was accompanied by a group of dancers as she rapped, sang and danced.

The prize for best male vocalist was awarded to Travis Walters, while Third Degree was the Rookie Group of the Year.
