“Fairy Bear has a very busy day ahead of her. She wakes up at dawn to greet the sunrise.

‘I wonder what today will bring,’ she think,” Anjanique Chaltanham, 5, read Friday at the BVI Reading Council Book Fair at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall.

Anjanique was at the event with her mother and her brother. “I love to read because it is fun,” she said. Her favourite books are Fairy Bear and Abraham, she added.

The event is among the activities planned in celebration of the BVI Reading Council’s 17th year in existence, council president Linden Smith said.

Because a Thursday session was cancelled because of the weather, the fair will continue Saturday.
