After a string of burglaries across Virgin Gorda last week, acting Chief Inspector in the Virgin Gorda Policing Division Selwyn Rock sought information from the public to help track down the perpetrators, according to a press release issued last Thursday.

The announcement comes after a villa in Mahoe Bay and a villa in Spring Bay were burgled earlier in the week, while Buck’s Food Market and “a business office” were “illegally entered” Wednesday night, with a significant amount of cash taken from the latter location, the press release stated.

TV, mattress taken

Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said yesterday that she could not say when the villa burglaries occurred, but she said in a Sunday email that a mattress and flatscreen television were taken from Mahoe Bay.

“Our desire is to bring a quick end to these burglaries by arresting the individuals responsible and restoring the Virgin Gorda community to its former tranquil existence,” Mr. Rock said. “There are just a few, mostly young, individuals responsible. We are asking the public to give us the help needed to identify these individuals.”

Mr. Rock invited anyone with information to call him at 368-9138.
