After Jonathan Hutchinson was announced as the male winner of the Virgin Islands Prince and Princess Show on Sunday at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall, he ran across the stage, jumping, dancing and pointing to the sky.

When Jae’da De Castro was named princess, she was more demure but no less enthusiastic as she beamed and waved at supporters.
The pair competed against eight other children: K’Jonte Stevens, Naya Callwood, Raheem Johnson, T’Cari John, Nejma Robinson, D’Kayla Chinnery, Diamonae Thomas, and Ahijah Barth.

At the start of the show, which began promptly at 3 p.m. and ended shortly after 7, the contestants performed a group dance before returning individually to introduce themselves.

Then they competed in segments including talent, eveningwear, ambassadorial wear, and speech, as well as an Anything but Cloth fashion display.

The packed auditorium spared no cheers as their favourite contestants came on stage.

Ahijah was first runner-up for the Princess title, while D’Kayla was second runner-up. For the boys, Naya was first runner-up, followed by K’Jonte.
